under the stars
Under the Stars was an immersive play installation designed to re-create a night in the Australian desert. Vinyl window decals, realistic handmade props and a custom made soundscape meant children could cook over a crackling fire while listening to the chirping crickets or search for the toy hopping-mice that could be heard scurrying in the spinifex. The lean-to was a popular spot to nestle down and tell stories or gaze at the stars in the luxurious velvet night sky.
On display at the State Library of Queensland in 2014, Under the Stars is now on show at the Mackay City Library.
